New Intaglio Copper Etchings 2025
Intaglio print editions created with Schäfer Grafisk Værksted, Copenhagen. In the intaglio process, a copper plate is coated with a layer of wax to protect areas not to be etched. The plate is then exposed to acid, which etches the exposed areas, creating the design. Presented on hand-coloured paper, Somerset 230gsm. Each of the new pieces explore 'transparency' through architectural forms; including a work on Georg Elliot's Middlemarch (1871), Liu Cixin's description of 4-dimensional space in the third part of the Three-Body Problem Trilogy (2010) and Mikhail Bakhtin's concept of the Dialogic Imagination (1934-41)
21/11
Collection of mixed media drawings created between 2016-2024, some of them slow cooked over years others made in shorter gestation periods. A swirling of information expressed in tangible media. Exploring themes of colonialism, consciousness, literary history and identity; you'll find among these works war, peace, philosophy, naysayers, and necromancers, medieval castles and crystalline skyscrapers.
Towers
A collection of original drawings from the archive. An intuitive go-to in my drawing practice which I proceed to return to. Working as vertical mandalas these towers are as much about the architecture outside of myself, as the phantom cities jutting out of the psych-scape within.
