Aarhus Capital of Culture 2017, created in 2012. This mural was created as part of Aarhus’ successful bid for the European Capital of Culture back in 2012. The choices of buildings were inspired by Aarhus’ demographic, so to reflect the Danish city’s ‘true skyline’. The overall concept was to illustrate that it is only through these fresh collisions between cultures can new culture emerge. “The importance of hybridity is not to be able to trace two original moments from which the third emerges, rather hybridity […] is the ‘third space’ which enables other positions to emerge” Homi K.
